Kamen Goranov
Born in 1979 in Varna /Bulgaria/
Passed my studies between 1997 and 2001 in “Escuela da artes graficas - Islas Filipinas - Madrid” with the degree “tecnico especialista disenador grafico”. Later in 2004 studied in “Instituto Europeo di Design” - a 3 years course of graphic design, graduated in 2007 as graphic designer.
Into to the vast world of graphic design I have been attracted always by the poster design and illustration. So the majority of my creations are linked to the last ones. I feel strong connection to the collage art, polish poster and the underground comix, elements that influenced my artwork.
I have been worked in different campus: from pre-press specialist, package, industrial and graphic design, making logos, brands, catalogues, brochures, etc.
Personally the most interesting side of my work are the personal projects: comix strips for fanzines and magazines, poster works for expositions, concourses or for musical events. At the same time could say I’m one of the pioneers in Bulgaria editing some alternative and subversive way of expressions - this is the fanzine “Street deed”. Also a co-founder of the “Mundo Subnormal” - a Madrid based magazine about underground art, culture and music.
I have been participated in expositions in: Ecuador, Australia, Hong Kong, London, Surgut, Ucraine, Paris, Mexico, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.
In 2010 won first prize in poster contest “Adelaide Fringe” - the largest annual arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere, held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide.
In 2015 and 2016 I represented Alliance Française - Varna with two of my posters in the festival of graphic design in Paris - “Fête du graphisme”.
