Anna Simeonoff

                                     

Anna Simeonoff is a Bulgarian poster artist and graphic designer with a Master’s degree in Poster and Visual Communication from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia. She specializes in poster, graphic, and logo design, as well as book layout, working with institutions such as the National Palace of Culture, Kinomania Festival, and the French and Polish Institutes, alongside various publishing houses.

As co-founder and curator of Plakat Kombinat, an online gallery for poster art, she has organized over 25 exhibitions in Bulgaria, Europe (Vienna, Rome, London, Prague, Strasbourg, Tirana), and the USA (New York). Her posters have been shown at major international events, including the Lahti Poster Triennial (Finland), the International Poster Biennial (Mexico), and the International Triennial of the Stage Poster Sofia.

Her awards include the 2025 Silver Award in the category United Nations’ 17 Goals (“Poster for” competition), exhibited on a Times Square billboard; the 2019 First Prize for “70 Years of the Polish Cultural Institute”; the 2018 Second Prize at the Goethe-Institut’s “Buchschmuck” illustration competition; the 2015 Audience Award at “I Love This Film” in Sofia; the 2012 Second Prize at the “Rio+20” poster competition; and earlier distinctions such as the 2004 Young Artist Award, leading to a residency at Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, and the 2003 First Prize in the logo and aircraft design competition for Viaggio Air.

Important participations include “Memory and Posters” (2023–2025), a project of the Stage Poster Triennial and the State Institute for Culture; the 10th International Triennial of Stage Poster Sofia (2022); “Festival Posters” (2019); “Hommage à Despo” at the National Theater, Sofia (2017); and the art residence “Mallorca Trans Local Meeting” in Spain (2013).

Anna has also worked as an art director (Plakat Kombinat, Art Contact, JNL+) and as a graphic designer and illustrator for publishing houses. Her work highlights her lasting influence on contemporary poster art and visual communication.
