Zara Alexandrova


Zara was born 1980 in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.Her artistic practice is grounded in aesthetics of existence in a commercial society. She is interested on social critical themes like gender identity, fashion trends, political and social relations and ecology. Employing images and narratives that are embedded in the collective, cultural imagination she creates new conditions for interpretation. The conflicts and taboos in the society are representing with ironic and sarcasm. Her works are implemented in different Medias and techniques such as paintings, photographs, objects or site specific installations.
